Appreciation

Busy busy busy...
This is what I have been thinking in and out of my head. The end of the school year is approaching and I still need to accomplish many tasks. On top of all these things I’ve had non-school projects. Some I’ve started and some I will not have time to get to. Editing video is not as easy as it looks or sounds, but most people think it’s an easy thing to do. Especially when it’s a solo project.
When I get home all I do is work on the projects. The next morning I go to school and then home again and the same routine continues. Same goes for the weekend. This weekend I went out into the community, because it was school related, but if it wasn’t then I will be home working. I love what I do, but when people do not appreciate it then I won’t either.
I’ve done to much and for the appreciation that I have received it has not satisfied me. From now on I will only work for the things that I will gain something in the end or get appreciated from it. Having a “talent” does not mean we can all approach him/her and make them do it all.
I like being busy, but not to much or when it comes to the point where I can’t see the light. I’ve learned so much from all of this and I will take it as a learning experience.
It’s been a stressful month and I got to say I am more excited in graduating then sad. I am ready for this summer and this application will be awesome!

Please excuse my grammar. My writing skills aren't so great.

  2. It sounds like we might sit down and talk about all the things you have going on and talk through what you want to keep doing. I know that you are in demand. As our VP of HR says, "The prize for winning a cake eating contest is more cake." This means that when you are good at something, you get more of it! It is a compliment and a good position to be in -- one where you get to choose what you do.

Your writing here is excellent, and I only caught one really noticeable grammar issue. Blogging is a great way to practice writing skills, and the writing style can be more casual than, say, a term paper. Also, your willingness to write so personally is wonderful. This kind of refection will serve you well now and in the future. You've realized that something is not where you need it to be, named the problem, and started to think of solutions.

It is never simple. I could choose ECC or Mentoring last quarter, but not both. I wanted to do one reasonably well rather than both poorly! I said "Here is how much time I can give. What is the best way for me to use this time that I *do* have?" I'm glad I chose ECC. It was tough in many ways and really rewarding as well. I had to stretch my abilities given that the audience was so different from my usual students! I'm really proud of the work you all did and the leadership you showed. I'm really glad to see you got value out of it enough to keep moving the project forward.
